The Clear Sum

Cookie Policy

What gets stored in your browser, and why.

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Here's exactly what The Clear Sum uses.

Strictly necessary

Local storage remembers the choice you make in the cookie banner, so it doesn't reappear on every visit. This is set regardless of your choice, as it's needed to respect that choice.

Preferences

If you accept, local storage also remembers your last-used calculator and the numbers you entered, so the page picks up where you left off. This never leaves your device.

Advertising

If you accept all cookies, we may show ads through Google AdSense or a similar network. These can set cookies to show relevant ads and measure performance. Choose "necessary only" and no advertising cookies are set.

Analytics

If accepted, a basic, privacy-friendly analytics tool may record anonymised visit counts and which calculator tabs are used. This does not identify you.

Managing cookies

Change your choice any time by clearing your browser's site data for this page, which brings the banner back. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
